CONDITIONS OUR CLOTHES WORK FOR
INGA Wellbeing clothing for patients differs significantly from other solutions available on the market in that it is NOT condition specific. We worked with nurses to create clothing that would work for MOST medical treatments, and no matter how patients’ treatment journeys evolve.
As such you do not need to guess whether our clothes will work with whatever medical device you, or your loved one, are hooked up to: it more than likely will!
If, however, you are wanting some further reassurance, below is a non-exhaustive list of conditions that our range of tops, trousers and dresses are most-commonly used for.
And, of course, if you have any questions at all, please do not hesitate to contact us and we will get you an answer from our medical advisors as quickly as possible.
e.g. post-surgery and during chemotherapy
Initially inspired by our experience of caring for loved ones with cancer (ovarian and breast), the INGA Wellbeing range of clothing has been carefully designed to accommodate post-op drains and to hide a portacath, Hickman line or Picc line, along with pockets to hold a morphine driver. Monitors and feeding tubes can also pass easily through the side openings in all the tops and the dress.
e.g. recovering from a heart attack or awaiting a heart transplant
With side openings to enable heart monitors to pass discreetly to your body, the INGA Wellbeing tops (t-shirt and cross-over) as well as the (night)dress are particularly helpful. All also have pockets for holding telemetry devices.
e.g. Crohn & Colitis
If you need abdominal surgery or have a stoma bag, the INGA Wellbeing range was made with you in mind. You might find the dress with its stomach opening particularly helpful, as well as the trousers with their separate front panel opening.
e.g. regular dialysis or for a kidney operation
For those who are living with kidney disease, regular dialysis will be much less of a hassle and undignified process with one of our tops or dresses, as the arms are easily accessible for taking blood pressure readings and for dialysis. Pre- and post-op, the clothes all accommodate catheter bags and ensure frequent examinations and treatments are quick and dignified.
e.g. for elective or emergency c-sections
Our back-opening nightdress with its discreet stomach opening is perfect for allowing nurses access to your c-section wound for checks and treatment, while the arm openings make nursing a breeze. And of course, you will look great for all those wonderful mother and baby photos!
e.g. after an accident, heart attack or stroke
With openings to the arms, shoulders, legs and groin, carers will be able to provide massages and work directly on key muscle groups without having to undress the patient too much. Catheters are also discreetly accommodated.
e.g. post-surgery or for long-term chronic care
If you leave hospital with small drains, or need to have medication administered regularly by IV, then our range is perfect for you, as who wants to wear a hospital gown in their own home? Dressing and undressing will also be easier for you and your carer, and massages and examinations can be carried out discreetly.
Routine dressing, washing and care of an elderly person is much easier and more dignified in INGA Wellbeing clothes, with the front panel and side leg openings of the trousers being particularly helpful for those who are catheterised.
At this important time when the individual’s comfort and wellbeing takes precedence over medical intervention, INGA Wellbeing’s ‘normal’-looking clothing can help to restore relationships that may have become distorted by the de-humanising process of treatment. We know from experience how important this can be.
